2024 Spring: Global II Research Paper: Home

This guide is intended to help you research topics in Global II History, a field with a wide variety of library resources.

Using this Guide: Using the tabs at the top, navigate to locate the specific type of resources that you need: TERTIARY SOURCES (reference encyclopedias and dictionaries), SECONDARY SOURCES (books), and PRIMARY SOURCES. Use the subpages of the Home tab for strategies to conduct your research and find sources. The final three tabs will help you create citations, notecards, and footnotes using Noodletools following Chicago Manual of Style formatting.

The resources in the guide have been evaluated for quality and usefulness. There are many untrustworthy websites on the web. If you find a source you would like to use not listed here, make sure to get it approved by Ms. Kane or your teacher.

Authentication for Full-Text Access

When at home, the first time you use a library resource in your browser you will be redirected to a Gmail log-in screen in order to authenticate that you are a member of the Spence Community. To authenticate, enter your Spence email address and password. After you authenticate, you will be automatically directed to the database you select. You only need to authenticate once during a browsing session.
